The hotel is located in the Southern part of the Great Hungarian Plain (Alföld), near Békéscsaba, in the scenic, historical spa town of Gyula that has a mild climate and is the birthplace of Ferenc Erkel (Ferenc Erkel is one of the greatest Hungarian composers). In its vicinity is a boating lake surrounded by ancient trees that tell of ages past, and more than 500 years old Gothic brick castle.

The Castle of Gyula (Gyulai Vár), built in the 15th century, provides insight to the history of almost 7 centuries with the help of 24 exhibition rooms. Several programs and events are organized within the walls of the castle besides the permanent exhibitions and the guided tour. You can get to the overlook through a spiral staircase; the panorama of the town is beautiful from up there. The huge park and the boating lake is around the castle, right across from it there is the Almásy Palace (Almásy-kastély). In the Almásy palace, with the help of permanent exhibitions you can get to know how everyday life went in such a palace, who ensured the luxury, how the world behind the curtain looked like in the home of aristocracy. Besides the colorful world of the life of aristocrats who lived here ages ago the day to day life of the staff serving them is also presented. The sightseeing narrow gauge train departs from the front of the palace every hour; with it, you can comfortably watch the places of interest in the town or the amazing flora.
Gyula Castle Spa (Gyulai Várfürdő), open all year round, is across the castle. The more than fifty years old Gyula Castle Spa is located in the two-hundred-year-old, 8.5 hectare park of the former Almássy palace, now declared a nature reserve park that is made special by the fifty species of evergreens., two hundred and fifty species of deciduous trees and hurbs, fifty thousand square metre of tended lawn, and over twenty thousand colorful flowers. The Spa excels with its 5000 sq m of water surface, with 19 indoor and outdoor pools.

However, Gyula is not only famous for the castle and the bath, but for its gastronomy and pálinka as well. There is no shortage of restaurants on the streets of the town, and the “Hundred-year-old” Confectionery and the Artisan Confectionery (Kézműves Cukrászda) can be a good choice if it comes to cakes, and you should pick Castle Garden Terrace restaurant if you wish to participate in evening programs. Besides the joy of cakes and candies the “Hundred-year-old” Confectionery (Százéves Cukrászda) provides a special experience if you explore the authentically furnished (1840s) rooms. The Castle Garden Terrace (Várkert Terasz) restaurant (seasonally) is at the entrance of the bath. Guests can have tapped wine, cocktails, delicious food, live music on summer nights in the nice garden section and ice cream. Surroundings of Gyula
Gyula is a town full of excitement and programs in itself, but its region has countless opportunities all year round as well: Körös-Maros National Park, Békéscsaba, Szarvas, Szeged, Ópusztaszer and thermal baths.
In the Körös-Maros National Park you can discover a unique flora and fauna. You can walk around in the park but can also rent a bicycle or even a canoe to discover all the beauty. The visitor centers, museums and the zoo make the program opportunities even more colorful. .
Békéscsaba is a cozy town, full of holiday programs, only 16 km away from Gyula. Among other things the following are places of interest in the town: the Doll Exhibition (Babakiállítás) (more than a 1000 dolls in a compelling environment in this fantastic dollhouse), the sports airport (sport aviation, gliding, amusement flight, parachuting, paragliding, hang-gliding education and training, tandem skydiving), and the Árpád Baths (Árpád Gyógy- és Strandfürdő) (swimming pool, spa with giant slide, thermal pools, children’s pool, sports venues, sauna, steam chamber, healthcare and cosmetic services). Ópusztaszer deserves to be famous for the Feszty Panorama (Feszty-körkép), a huge, circular painting about the Hungarian Conquest. The Csillagösvény Maze Eco Adventure Park (Csillagösvény Élménypark), a labyrinth-themed amusement park, exceptional in Central Europe, is also here. It is open from March until November. Hungarian and English language questions provide help to find the right path in the hedge labyrinth winding on and on for 3.5 km. The walls of the 1.2 km long Willow braid (Fűzfafonat) – labyrinth are as tall as a man. Besides the labyrinths there are folklore games for children and adults alike, a field for number games, playground, mind games make time spent here in the park even more eventful.
In Szeged the Tiszapart Amusement and Adventure Park, and the KalandoZoo Adventure Park are the favorite of children, young people and families, but those a bit older with a playful mind also get a lot of pleasure from the services of the parks. The Tiszaparti Élmény és Kalandpark (Tiszaparti Élmény és Kalandpark) is in a beautiful environment, directly on the shore of Lake Tisza, ropeways, slides, canopy path, climbing wall, playing castle, giant chess, trampoline, badminton and table tennis make the proximity of wildlife and water full of experiences. The KalandoZoo Adventure Park (KalandoZoo Kalandpark) was established near the Wildlife Park (Vadaspark) of the city, where, besides the ropeways, slides, climbing wall and playgrounds tube labyrinth, overlook, bungee trampoline, rodeo bull, 3D hoop, extreme bicycle, archery range, giant sumo, live table football and water football can also be tried.
